Enclosures
Hard drive enclosures enable the user to insert a hard drive of their choice to create additional, portable storage space for all types of data files. Enclosures will be able to take one or more 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives. The drives fitted into these devices are usually, but not always SATA hard drives. Most 3.5" hard drive enclosures will accept hard drives up to 2Tb capacity. Some 2.5" enclosures require an additional power supply to accept hard drives above 320Gb capacity. However, the use of a dual USB lead, sometimes supplied with these enclosures enables the unit to accepct 2.5" hard drives up to 500Gb.
